Some research topics and themes that I appear to be revolving around are escapism, fantasy, technology, visual arts, existentialism, Time (particularly the Future or getting lost in Time), and healing or checking in with oneself.
My creative process is definitely centered around sound, visuals, and imagination. Music and sound seem to be my base.
My thesis project is a dance & animation film investigating themes of “Self” Becoming/Unbecoming, Mental-Emotional Health, healing, and empowerment fantasy.
Rotoscoping / Hand Drawn Animation
My animated work is an attempt at rotoscoping.
Rotoscoping is an animation technique that is tracing over and referencing motion picture footage, frame by frame.
Rotoscoping is intense work. A 20 second video of me dancing took 10 hours to complete.
The highlights of my work are rotoscoped by either me or other animators who assisted me.
The entire animated work was a completely new experience for me, but it was worth seeing the outcome and my fantasies come to life.
